Release Date Change for Rise of Orion + Giveaway

It is with some sadness but plenty of certainty that I bring you this solemn announcement:

Publication date for the third novel in the Serengard Series, Rise of Orion, is going to be pushed from the original release date of October, 2014.

The new release date is December 2nd, 2014.

Due to the unexpected length of the novel and the amount of time it took me to write it, the final product simply isn’t going to be here until then. I owe many people for keeping me sane and helping this book live and breathe, and I owe you for reading my novels and sending me tweets and emails to tell me you’re excited about the next book. I hope the wait is worth it!

The cover reveal is set for October 13th on IceyBooks.com. If you’d like to read and review early, I’m accepting ARC requests via this form. Four new Trading Cards will be released with this novel, so if you’re a part of the Street Team, watch your mailbox!

In case you need something epic to read in the meantime, I’m giving away a lovely set of The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo this month. If you haven’t heard of these books, they’re Young Adult Epic Fantasy set in a world based on Russia and they’re beautiful. Nikolai will steal your heart, The Darkling will steal your soul, and I can’t say more because of spoilers. Giveaway ends September 15th, 2014 and is open to US entrants only (I’m sorry!).
Thank you for entering, thank you for being a reader, thank you for giving me a reason to write!

Now, trapped inside the Fourth City of the new Empire, Mikel sifts through the lies told him about his birth, his family, and his duty to the Seren people. He always thought Trzl was one of the worst of them. But what if she is as much a pawn as he?

  1. I was starting to think that we were running out of time. It’s a bummer that you have to push it back, but ultimately it’s what’s best for Rise of Orion!

My favorite third book in a series? I don’t know… The One was pretty good. I’m still waiting to read Ruin and Rising, and Heir of Fire, and those are the two third books I can’t wait to read!

Rise of Orion is pretty good too!! ;)

  2. Heh-hey, our books babies shall share birthdays! (“Sun’s Rival” waves hi to “Rise of Orion”.)

As for the best third book in a series I’ve ever read… “The Spirit Eater” (Legend of Eli Monpress, by Rachel Aaron) was quite good. As was “The Bonemender’s Choice” (The Bonemender, by Holly Bennett). Oh, and “Montmorency and the Assassins” (Montmorency, by Eleanor Updale …which, whoa, I only just this minute found out has finally been followed up with a book five. *freaks out*). Don’t make me try to pick just one; I’ll explode. XD

  3. The best third book in a series I’ve ever read would have to go to Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare because it took my heart and tore it to tiny little pieces and put it back together, then crushed it again. Or Onyx (it’s either Onyx or Opal) from the Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout. SO GOOD :D

  4. That’s a bummer that your release date is being pushed back so much, but it’s great that you are ensuring that it will be the best it can be! The best third book in a series I read was probably Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, which is the third and last book in the Shatter Me trilogy!

  5. Oh, that’s a hard question. I usually read standalone contemporary novels though I am trying to get into series now. I guess I would have to say Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy).

  6. Hmm… third best book… That’s tough…
Actually, Ruin and Rising is definitely up there for best trilogy finale. But I’m not sure anyone can beat Return of the King for ending with a bang!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  7. This a very hard question, actually, since I’m one of those people who are horrible at finishing a series! Off the top of my head, Ignite Me(very swoony!) and Shadow Kiss(the feeeeeels).

  8. Best third book I ever read was The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa or Champion by Marie Lu! Thank you for this amazing giveaway! :)

  9. Can’t wait to see your cover! Keep me posted!

I think my favorite 3rd book was Prisoner of Azkaban in the Harry Potter series. I loved that one. It wasthe first of the more serious tone and introduced the idea that Harry was growing up. :)

    Looking forward to yours. :)
